The Record Connection music store, outside Ephrata, has been named one of the 10 best record stores in the U.S. in a readers' survey in Goldmine magazine.

The store, on Route 272, specializes in 1960s and '70s rock, especially psychedelic and progressive rock. It has 9,000 CDs, 5,000 cassettes, 20,000 LPs and 30,000 EPs (extended-play records) and singles.

Its owner is Andy Kamm, who opened the store in 1985 after years of selling records at flea markets and trade shows.

Goldmine is a national magazine with a circulation of 36,000, and specializes in music collectibles.
